A tale of two ads

During the 2012 Presidential election, while Conservative groups were being surpressed by Obama’s IRS, the pro Obama PAC Priorities USA was out for blood. They ran the despicable, libelous ‘Mitt Romney killed my wife’ ad. Joe Soptic blamed Mitt Romney for closing the factory where he worked, causing him to lose his health insurance. Then his wife got cancer and died because she didn’t have coverage.

This story was riddled with holes however. Soptic’s factory didn’t close until 7 years after Romney left Bain Capital. Also not mentioned in the ad was the fact that Mrs Soptic had coverage through her employer after her husband had lost his. So Romney had nothing to do with her death, the fact of the matter was she ignored symptoms until it was too late and that is why she died. The Romney campaign did little pushback against the ad and didn’t demand that it be removed.

Fast forward to 2014 and we have more evidence of Democrat hypocrisy and abuse of power. Rep Gary Peters of Michigan has threatened the licenses of any tv station that airs an Americans For Prosperity ad that features Julie Boonstra. She is a cancer patient whose insurance was cancelled due to Obamcare. She feels like she and the country were lied to when the Democrats said ‘if you like your plan you can keep it’. She now has to pay high out of pocket costs that she doesn’t know how she will afford.

Rep Gary Peters, who voted for Obamacare in 2010 has closer ties to Boonstra’s predicament than Romney had to Mrs Soptic, but he is trying to shut her up. This brazen hypocrisy won’t get much play by the MSM which has once again gone into attack mode, doing the type of background check on Boonstra they neglected to do on Mr Soptic. It would be infuriating if it wasn’t so predictable.
