With the presidential election increasingly looking like it will result in a victory for Donald Trump, the media’s claims that their job is to protect our democratic institutions are shown to be lies.
It appears that their formulation of democracy is more in line with Venezuela or Russia where the opposition are silenced and arrested. The left has been working with social media companies on the silencing of their opponents for years.
Now they are attempting it with the legacy media. Just in the last few days Leftist employees of NBC News forced the firing of former head of the RNC Ronna McDaniel, before she even made her first appearance.
When you combine this with the politically motivated prosecutions of the main political opposition candidate to the left in Donald Trump, we see that the Left is attempting to delegitimize their opposition to make it easier for them to maintain their power.
The HuffPost clues us into what the next steps are in the strategy to stop Trump.
They wrote “Facing multiple criminal prosecutions and over a half a billion dollars in civil judgments, private citizen Donald Trump would almost certainly be denied even the lowest level security clearance, were he to apply.”
It should be noted that almost all the reasons that the HuffPost lists as to why Trump is not qualified also apply to President Biden. Perhaps most importantly being that he also mishandled classified documents yet was considered so senile that he wouldn’t be fit to stand trial.
But what if “The will of a majority of the voters overrules whatever objections intelligence community professionals might have, and a president has lawful access to every classified, secret or top-secret piece of information the nation possesses.”
In this case the HuffPost pushed forward the idea floated by George Conway the infamous Never Trumper as saying “Anyone who would grant Donald Trump a security clearance ought to have his or her clearance revoked.”
In effect they are calling on the intelligence community to launch a coup against a future President Trump by hamstringing his ability to carry out his oath of office.
To do this they would refuse to brief the president on intelligence matters because they have objections to him receiving this information. By doing so they become the de facto “leader” of the country because now they would have to coordinate with the military on how to operate our foreign policy.
This isn’t what the Washington Post meant when they changed their masthead to “Democracy dies in darkness” but that is literally what will happen if the HuffPost et al get their way.
